SSO-MS
★ one login for all six games ★
For kids
The games are back!
All six games opened again on 28 October. Thanks for waiting!
What happened?
We joined all six games together, so one login works everywhere.
- Joel's Neon Arcade
- Blockworld
- David the Mathlete
- Esther's Doll Party
- David's Robot Arcade
- Mechanisms and Marble Run
The games were closed from 19 to 28 October while we built it.
Is my stuff safe?
Yes! Your scores, saves, dolls, worlds and robots are all kept. Nothing gets deleted.
Will my password still work?
Yes. Your username and password will still work, on every game. You don't need to learn a new one.
What's new?
- Sign in once, play everywhere. Your login opens every game you're allowed to play.
- One place to find all six games: www.freedomgeneration.com.
- Later: new apps for David's Robot Arcade, Esther's Doll Party and David the Mathlete. They're on hold for now.
What does SSO-MS mean?
SSO-MS stands for Single Sign-On Management System.
- Single sign-on means you sign in once, and every game knows it's you.
- Management system is the part grown-ups use to look after everyone's accounts.
For grown-ups
The plan in plain English
- All six games now use one shared sign-in at www.freedomgeneration.com (we call it the hub).
- The hub holds who each person is, their logins, their family, and which games they may play.
- Each game keeps its own data. Scores, saves, dolls, worlds and robots stay where they are today.
- It's for family and friends only. Every account is by invitation, and there's no public sign-up.
- The games were closed from 19 to 28 October while we moved everyone's accounts across. They're open again now.
The phases
| Phase | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Safety: restore points for every game, so any change can be undone | ✅ Done |
| 1 | Site hardening: each game made safer against tricks from other websites | ✅ Done |
| 2 | Hub built and tested | ✅ Done |
| 3 | Hub goes live, then every account is imported, and each child's logins are merged into one person | ✅ Done |
| 4 | Each game's login form checks passwords with the hub | ✅ Done |
| 5 | One sign-in everywhere, the games directory at www.freedomgeneration.com, and parent controls | ✅ Done |
| 6 | Apps: the new sign-in for the existing Joel's Arcade, Mechanisms and Blockworld apps, and new, fully native apps for Robot Arcade, Doll Party and Mathlete | On hold |
| 7 | Tidy-up: old copies of passwords removed from the games | Next |
Every existing login keeps working
- Every username and password that works today keeps working – on the same sign-in page and in the same apps.
- Nobody has to choose a new password, and no login expires.
- If your child has several logins (for example, one for each game), we link them to one person. Each login keeps its own password, and any of them opens all of your child's games.
Parent logins
- Parents get their own login. Matthew sends you an invite by text message, and you choose your own password.
- You'll see only your own children. You can switch games on or off, reset a password, sign out a device and approve an Apple TV.
- You can also download your child's data, or delete it.
Privacy
What the hub stores:
- each person's display name and avatar, and whether they're a child or an adult;
- their usernames, and password hashes only (a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the password);
- family links (which children belong to which parent);
- access (who may play which game, and who may help run it);
- which devices are signed in (a short device name, such as "iPad"), so you can sign them out;
- an audit log of admin and parent actions: who did what, and when.
What it doesn't store: no email addresses, no ages or birthdays, and no locations.
- Backups are encrypted and kept for 30 days.
- Deletion on request: ask us and we'll delete a person's account and data from every game.
Questions?
Email Matthew at matthew@platform21.com.au. Tell us which child or login you're asking about, and we'll reply as soon as we can.
